IPL (Intense pulse light)

IPL is a kind of phototherapy which helps improve acne/pimple. Helps in controlling recurrence of pimple & also improve post acne pigmentation dark spots.

Wave length :- 420-620 nm.

Indication :- acne, post acne pigmentation, dark spots, open pores, facial hair.

How does it works :- when Ipl light exposure given to the patient it helps in constriction of sebaceous gland which control excess sebum production. Which indeed control pimple becuase Excess sebum tends to block pilo-sebaceous gland causing comedones, whiteheads, blackhead & acne.

Ipl light also generate free radicals in pilosebaceous gland which helps kill acne causing bacteria propionibacterium acne which control red pus filled inflamed acne.

Also soothes skin cells to reduce inflammation & skin redness.

Procedure :-

First Patient is ask to wash his face
Then moisturiser is Applied on damp face
Then cooling gel is applied by assistant.
Then IPL light shots was given by doctor. According to skin type & condition.
Then assistant remove the gel & clean patient face.
Then anti-allergic cream is applied to post face.

Post IPL care :-

Must Apply sunscreen twice a day & use moisturiser at least three times a day. For next 3 days.
Don’t use excessive warm & cold water for next 48 hour.
Don’t use depigmenting & anti acne cream for next 48 hours.

Side effects :-

Mild Redness, irritation some times blister or brown spot, dryness. Which easily recovers.
